Oakland is the heart of the East Bay Regional Park District, encompassing about 75,000 acres including over 50 parks and 20 regional hiking trails. Oakland’s west border consists of 19 miles of coastline along the beautiful San Francisco Bay. To the east, are the majestic Oakland Hills, from which one can see the beautiful skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance.
Lake Merritt, the largest urban saltwater lake in the United States of America, is located in middle of the beautiful Lakeside Park which offers public show gardens, boat rentals, and city related events. The locally famous “Necklace of Lights” shines around the 3.5-mile perimeter of the lake
